The AR17 Army Receiving valve is an indirectly heated amplifier triode. This exhibit was made by M-OV under the GEC brand.
The commercial equivalent was the AC/HL.
The reverse carries the identification but the lozenge on the front is clearly indicating an M-OV valve.
The lettering found on the reverse.
The coating hides all but the pinch and stem.
The top mica: a rectangular cathode tube with two insulated heater loops.
The classic envelope is 44 mm in diameter and, excluding the B5 base pins, is 96 mm tall.
