The NR49 is a pre-WWII UK RAF receiving pentode valve. The NR prefix in the type designation stands for Navy Receiving. The Admiralty specification is 1260 and unusually for a valve for the military the maker's name is present.
The valve in civilian name is an EF36.
The reverse is the Mullard gold coloured zinc loaded paint and the serial number 1445.
The classic envelope is 30 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 81 mm tall.
