The CV1187 is a dual signal diode. The prototype was the D41 and the pre-CV code was the UK Navy NR66.
ARC Radio Tubes were a brand that was probably made by Sylvania. It is doubtful that this box was originally made to house this valve.
The Valve also carries the commercial Type designation of D41.
The diode anodes have a small front to back dimension of about 2.0 mm.
The central oxide coated cathode tube with the two anodes mounted vertically.
The classic envelope is 35 mm in diameter, and excluding the B5 base pins is 77 mm tall.
