The data sheet describes the 6AR7GT as having two signal diodes and a remote cut-off pentode in one envelope. It was intended as final IF amplifier, detector and ACV rectifier. Remote cut-off indicates a variable μ characteristic.
The internal shields connect to pin 7 and the external shield connects to pin 2.
The AWV logo and Made in Australia.
The external shield is a substantial metal cylinder. The internal top screen hides the internal structure except for the tops of the grid supports.
The wide glass tube envelope is 29 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 78 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type 6AR7GT was first introduced in 1949. See also 1949 adverts.
