Ferranti Valves from David Wrigley Other EY86 exhibits

The EY86 is a television EHT rectifier that is rated in terms of peak inverse volts (PIV) and that is quoted at 22,000 Volts.

The lettering is broken-up but under close inspection this is a Ferranti valve made in England.

The anode and screen are cylindrical. A maker's code has been etched into the glass.

The screen hides the cathode and heater.

The thin glass tube envelope is 21 mm in diameter and excluding the B9A base pins the valve is 66 mm long.
