Hivac The Two Margarets

The XSG from Hivac is a miniature two Volt tetrode and the design dates to 1935. Construction is all glass with a mesh screen grid.

A closer view. The filament tension spring is helical and mounted at the top of the electrode assembly.

Here the small anode plate can be seen and within the screen mesh can be glimpsed the control grid winding.

The thin Glass Tube envelope is 15 mm in diameter and, excluding the SM4 base pins, is 70 mm tall.
