The LD1 is a German military UHF triode from WWII
The Wehrmacht stamp and the acceptance centre BAL 1964. The bureaucracy of the state required inspection of all products.
The triode section is small and the control grid winding extends beyond the anode.
The flat metal top and threaded centre. This valve has lost the Bakelite screw-in knob that enabled the valve to be inserted into the valve-holder.
The base pins.
The grid winding can be glimpsed behind the support. The heater wire looks to be wound round a mandrel and is coiled within the insulation.
The locating lug on the metal top and within the glass is one mica end cheek.
The wide glass tube envelope is 25 mm in diameter and, excluding the base pins, is 44 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type LD1 was first introduced in 1941. See also 1941 adverts.
