The UX-201-A is a battery triode designed for detector or amplifier use. The filament is designed for use with a lead-acid accumulator, and a series rheostat.
The envelope is silvered inside the glass and no internal structures are visible.
The base carries the name Cymotron and the Type designation. The valve looks to be of Japanese origin as can be seen on the box and the logo on the dome. The logo in the image is on its side.
The balloon envelope is 45 mm in diameter, and excluding the UX4 base pins is 99 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type UX201A was first introduced in 1922. See also 1922 adverts.
