The 0Z4A is a version of the cold cathode gas filled full wave rectifier 0Z4 designed especially for use in vibrator power supplies. The envelope is marked 0Z4A/1003.
The requirement in systems such as car radio sets was maximum efficiency and thus minimum loss across the rectifier.
The data-sheet specifies that the minimum rectified current must be 30 mA or above.
The envelope has been over-printed with the RVC logo. So the Radio Valve Company of Canada must have been involved in sales or distribution and the valve says Made in USA.
Maker's reference and Made in USA.
The thin metal tube envelope is 25 mm in diameter, and excluding the IO base pins is 50 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type 0Z4A was first introduced in 1954. See also1954 adverts.
