The 5894 is a European pattern double beam tetrode for use as transmitter power amplifiers, frequency multipliers etc. It can also be used as a Class B modulator.
The heater is centre tapped so it can be used in mains based designs and/or directly with 12 Volt vehicle batteries as the heater supply.
The inside of the envelope has a smokey appearance that prevents full details being seen. The anode plates are either side of the central tower. The screen grid is common to both sections.
One of the grey anode plates. The anode is flat across the working area and then bent outward for extra rigidity.
The wide glass tube envelope is 44 mm in diameter, and excluding the B7A base pins is 74 mm tall.
