The CV2203 is a hydrogen thyratron pulse modulator. The peak anode voltage is 16 kV and the peal current is 200 A. The prototype was the English Electric FX215.
The CV2203 was too big for the valve studio and initially was photographed outdoors.
The anode is fixed only to the top cap and the connections are shielded within a glass tube. The anode itself is enclosed within the mesh shield.
The working electrodes are heavily shielded.
The base leads are multi stranded copper wires ending in spade connectors. Black = heater and cathode, yellow = heater and white is for the grid.
The wide glass tube envelope is 70 mm in diameter, and excluding the base leads is 260 mm tall.
