The CV5072 is the UK service designation for the commercial EZ81. This example was made in Australia.

In use the maximum reservoir capacitor would be limited to 50 µF and to prevent damage by excess current an effective series resistance of 230 Ohms is used.

The two stitched anodes placed around the common cathode. The anodes are stacked vertically but have extended fins so that it appears that a single anode is present. The clearance between the anodes is very small.

The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 69 mm tall.
