The NGT1 is an argon filled Thyratron and identical to the CV1141. Triggering is via the vertical rod that acts as the control element.

The finned structure is the anode and connected to the top cap.

The maximum operating frequency was 10,000 pulses per second. The drop across the valve was 15 - 18 Volts and the control ratio was 40.

The discs are the most distinctive feature of this valve.

The classic envelope is 44 mm in diameter and, excluding the B5 base pins, is 111 mm tall.
