The 7V7 is a sharp cut-off pentode designed for high frequency voltage amplification that replaced the 1938 1231.
The anode is rated at a maximum of four Watts dissipation. Running an RF amplifier at significant current lowers the noise added to the signal.
The identification is etched into the dome of the bulb.
The wide glass tube envelope is 29 mm in diameter, and excluding the B8B base pins is 57 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type 7V7 was first introduced in 1941. See also 1941 adverts.
