The Type 59 is an audio output valve from the 1930's that produces an output of 3 Watts single ended or up to 20 Watts as a push-pull pair.
The two side rods support the top mica.
This is a true pentode with three wire grids. There are twin cathodes and the heater wires can be seen to be connected in parallel.
The outer support rods are connected: one, to the screen grid at the base and two, the suppressor grid at the top.
The circular control grid heat sink. On the right is the strap from the side support to the suppressor grid.
The classic envelope is 51 mm in diameter, and excluding the base pins is 117 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet. Type 59 was first introduced in 1936. See also 1936 adverts.
