The CV284 is a voltage stabiliser producing an output voltage of 75 Volts. The data-sheet describes pin 4 as either connected to the anode or to a priming anode and in this exhibit it is connected to the anode. The priming anode is provided when the circuit design involves connecting the CV284 to a permanent heavy load shunting the stabiliser. In any case pin 4 should be connected to the other anode pins via a 15 kΩ resistor. The KB/Q identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the Q identifies the maker as English Electric Valve Co., Chelmsford.
Our other CV284 has mica discs, this one has two sets of heavy ceramic discs as well as mica discs. This is unusual for a 75 Volt stabiliser. The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter, and excluding the B7G base pins is 45 mm tall.Reference: Data-sheet. Type CV284 was first introduced in 1954. See also 1954 adverts. |
