The 1D6 is a half wave rectifier designed for universal (AC/DC) receivers that use a series heater chain and do not have a mains transformer.
This exhibit has a solid plate anode whereas our other 1D6 has a perforated anode.
The anode is much wider than the active area so as to provide maximum heat dissipation.
In the other plane the anode is not much thicker than the the cathode tube. The spot welded cathode connection is easily seen.
The classic envelope is 45 mm in diameter, and excluding the UX6 base pins is 100 mm tall.
