The Cossor ARS6 is almost the same size as the landmark S625 but not quite. The external layout of the valve is double ended but unlike the earlier design this valve uses a standard oxide filament Cossor tetrode within the envelope. Electrically it has the same characteristics as the S625 but was always known as the ARS6 as it was made especially for the UK Army. Later as the CV1317.
The anode seen end on.
In this picture the grids are visible and the screen grid can be seen as a spiral and not the mesh of the first design.
The filament and control grid go to the base whilst the screen grid and anode go to the two top pins.
See also S215.
The wide glass tube envelope is 30 mm in diameter and, excluding the B4 base pins, is 95 mm long.
Reference: 1043. Type ARS6 was first introduced in 1928. See also 1928 adverts.
