The EY87 is an EHT rectifier designed for EHT derived from the line timebase flyback. The DY87 has the same high voltage rating but has a 1.4 Volt 0.55 Amp heater.
Clearly reseller Bentley have imported this valve into the UK and have labelled it as of Foreign origin.
The cathode and screen fixed to the base and the anode bell held from the top.
The anode is closed at the top and ends within the lower screen so as to contain the X-ray radiation produced by the high energy electrons bombarding the metal.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter, and excluding the B9A base pins is 61 mm tall.
Reference: Data-sheet. Type EY87 was first introduced in 1956. See also 1956 adverts.
