The CV2886 is a 1950s Geiger-Muller tube designed to hold a liquid sample. It is believed to operate from a relatively low HT voltage of 350 Volts.
The tube came packed in a plain two part pasteboard box with corrugated card wrapped round the tube and wadding protecting the ends. The box was date stamped 31 March 1960 and sealed with an ASWE (extn) serviceable sticker.

The thin glass tube envelope is 27 mm in diameter, and excluding the base pins is 103 mm tall.
