The CV371 is an EHT rectifier designed for high voltage power supplies generally. The prototypes for this CV specification were the VX2016 and VX6036. The CV371 rectifier was developed into a reliable rugged type the CV4057.

The minimum effective series resistance needs to be 5,400 Ohms to limit peak current and the maximum reservoir capacitor is limited to 1.1 μF.

The KB/E identifies this valve as being made to specification K1001 or K1006, the B denotes qualification by a UK authority and the E identifies the maker as Thorn-AEI, Brimsdown.

The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 48 mm tall.
