The GL522 is a RF power triode designed for high frequency use. The control grid is a woven mesh attached to the central flange of the envelope. The cathode assembly is shielded by a foil screen and the emitting surface is a flat disk just below the control grid. The anode fins are connected to the internal anode rod and that in turn presents a flat circular disk to the electron stream and is also located very close to the mesh of the control grid.
The planar envelope is 40 mm in diameter at the anode, and excluding the IO base pins, is 107 mm tall.
