The CV1226 is a high voltage power rectifier with a directly heated oxide coated filament the prototypes were the U15 and RZ1-250. The maximum reservoir capacitor is 4 μF.
The CV1226 is the UK Navy type NU13A and Army type AU12 reclassified into the Common Valve series introduced in 1941 to harmonise procurement for all UK government departments. In this way costs were reduced and precious stocks could be interchanged if needed. It also made it easier for America to make valves for us.
The L4 base is 55 mm square.
The wide glass tube envelope is 48 mm in diameter and, excluding the L4 base pins, is 145 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet & 1043. Type CV1266 was first introduced in 1934. See also 1934 adverts.
