The 6D7 is a high impedance RF amplifier pentode and electrically equal to Type 6J7 that has an IO base.
The striking thing about the 6D7 is the sheet metal screen fixed to the envelope. The box states that it is a laboratory type tube and licensed from RCA. The manufacturer is American and the address on the box is New York City.
The classic envelope is 41 mm in diameter and, excluding the UX7 base pins, is 116 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet, 3002 & 1043. Type 6D7 was first introduced in 1933. See also 1933 adverts.
