The 4052A RF transmitting pentode was introduced in 1938. The application was in HF communications.
This image shows the box anode and is illuminated by the filament - thoriated tungsten.

The wide glass tube envelope is 50 mm in diameter and, excluding the UX5 base pins, is 215 mm tall.
