This exhibit, the GZ32, is a medium power full wave rectifier for general purpose use. It probably would have been used in audio power amplifiers or modest radio transmitters.
The maximum reservoir capacitor was 60 µF and the minimum series resistance to limit current was 150 Ohms.
Face view of one anode. The majority of the width is just a radiator with the working cylinder in the centre.
The twin rectifier sections. The shape is cross + shape.
The cathode tubes extend through the mica supports. The insulated heaters and the cathode connections can be seen on the left close to the pinch.
The classic envelope is 43 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 99 mm tall.
