The 6SN7W is an American glass tubular version of the mid 1930s metal double triode valve.
The W designation is probably a special quality version of the GT variant.
The construction uses a glass pinch and although two separate electrode structures are visible through the envelope, the cathodes are internally joined together.
Designed for audio applications the shared cathode would make phase splitters a natural choice of application.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and excluding the IO base pin length, stands 68 mm high.
