The 6D3 is a Mazda miniature valve that houses a single signal diode. The special feature of the design is a slow heating cathode. This suggests that it was used as a delay switch, possibly to achieve a slow start in a stabilised power supply.
The thin glass tube envelope is 18 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 45 mm tall.
