HMS Collingwood Museum
The CV576 is an IB26TR cell. This is all we know. With a high intensity transmission pulse the TR cell will conduct and block off the waveguide port to the receiver, thus protecting the front end devices from the transmitters power. Once the RF pulse has declined the ionisation collapses and the receiver port is open again.
The wide glass tube envelope is 26 mm in diameter and, 84 mm tall. across the copper cylinder is 38 mm.
