This microwave noise diode CV2341 represents the limits in valve technology at the end of WWII (1945) as it is useable up to 2.5 GHz.
Like all such noise diodes it is operated with saturated anode current that is controlled by the filament voltage. The physics of diode operation gives a predictable noise output.
The co-axial envelope is 6 mm in diameter and, excluding the base pins, is 35 mm tip to tip. The fins are 25 mm in diameter.
