VA220A

The VA220A klystron has an IO base and top cap. It is usual to have the reflector as a top cap as the valve construction would not lend itself to bringing the connection back to the base. Additionally the top cap voltage can be high and no problems of insulation breakdown within the base are likely.
We have no details of the operating conditions or frequency of output. The method of construction hints at a very small tuning range at best. The output waveguide has a fixing flange 80 mm in diameter.
The thin metal tube envelope is 34 mm in diameter and, excluding the base pins, is 75 mm tall.
