The CV210 is a gas filled resonator switch. The high power transmit pulse would ionise the gas making a low impedance path. This would protect the sensitive receive circuits connected to the same waveguide. After the pulse, the gap would return to a high impedance and allow the weak return echo to pass to the receiver.
The base measures 54 x 64 mm.
The envelope is 31 mm in diameter and, excluding the base pins, is 93 mm tall.
