The 834 is an RF power amplifier that can be used at maximum rating up to 100 MHz. It has a thoriated Tungsten filament and both grid and anode are taken to top pins.
This valve looks unused, whereas the 834 looks to have been over loaded at some point.
In addition to Class C RF amplifier service it also has ratings for use as a Class B audio amplifier / modulator when used in pairs.
The balloon envelope is 63 mm in diameter and, excluding the UX4 base pins, is 143 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet & 4061. Type 834 was first introduced in 1936. See also 1936 adverts.
