This CV288 is a magnificent specimen. The CV specification sheet shows the VX3034 as the prototype.
The design was shown at the Olympia Show in 1947 but referenced in 1946 in the above article. It was used for high power high frequency transmitters.
The external anode construction is clear from the picture. The grid ring is massive and the anode assembly has a tape finned structure, suggesting forced air cooling.
The wide glass tube envelope is 88 mm in diameter and, the length is 133 mm.
