We have no details for this large transmitting valve.
The size suggests an anode dissipation of 450 Watts or so. The early Mullard transmitting valves were named 0/20 etc and this points to a 500 Watt dissipation in this valve. It will be directly heated and probably dates from the 1920s. The large balloon envelope was required because the glass then available would start to conduct RF when very hot.
The balloon envelope is 152 mm in diameter and 336 mm long.
Reference: Observation.
