CV76C is one of the early strapped cavity magnetrons and is a higher pulse power development of the CV56 9 cm radar magnetron. The CV76 is rated at 500 kW output some five times the power of the CV56.
The CV76 was used as in the Type 277 early warning radar that was in service from the beginning of 1943.
The valve is shown without magnets. These would be placed with the poles either side of the circular cavity.

The fins are 75 mm in diameter and the overall length of the valve is 191 mm.
