The 3D22 is a gas filled thyratron designed for industrial control applications. The envelope is also marked CV2851 indicating equivalence.

The heater leads are on the right and the glass encased anode lead is on the left.

The blackened box is grid two and the two base connections provide a support on either side.

The base can be seen as a pressed glass disc and the small cylinder above the top mica.

The wide glass tube envelope is 52 mm in diameter, and excluding the B7D base pins is 96 mm tall.
