The 6J4WA is a high frequency triode. It was designed for use as a grounded grid amplifier at up to 500 MHz. This would include Band IV television. The WA suffix indicates a special quality type.
The anode is made up of two U shaped channels strapped together with a bright metal strap. The cathode is in the centre between them. The grid is wound closed spaced from fine wire. The grid extends beyond the anode.
The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter, and excluding the B7G base pins, is 42 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet & 3002. Type 6J4WA was first introduced in 1958. See also 1958 adverts.
