The 5AR4 is a compact high current full wave rectifier for use in high current small equipment. The compact size is in part achieved by the use of a pressed glass foot rather than a pinch. Essentially an all glass valve fitted on an IO base cap.
The envelope contains two flanged anodes that are carbonised for greater radiation efficiency.
See also GZ34.
The wide glass tube envelope is 31 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 69 mm tall.
