The CV416 is the commercial 6F17 pentode produced to the UK Government specification. This exhibit is clearly labelled as a sample for the Government to test prior to certifying that the product meets the design specification and thus can be made and labelled as a CV416. The design purpose is for voltage amplification and was used at audio frequencies in television receivers.
