The 6SN7W is an American glass tubular version of the mid 1930s metal double triode valve.
The W designation is probably a special quality version. This exhibit is considerably shorter than the 6SN7W and carries the GT extension.
The construction uses a glass disc base and no pinch. This would suggest a later production model of the W variant.
Designed for audio applications the shared cathode would make phase splitters a natural choice of application.
The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and excluding the IO base pin length, stands 69 mm high.
