The CV4044 like its commercial equivalent the M8091, is a high performance single rectifier. These valves are special quality versions of the commercial EY84. With an anode voltage of 625 Volts a full wave rectifier is easier with two valves rather than a pair of valves in a single envelope.

The rated reservoir capacitor is 24 µF and to limit surges the circuit series resistance needs to be at least 250 Ohms.

The thin glass tube envelope is 19 mm in diameter and excluding the B9A base pins the valve stands 73 mm high.
