Elpico was new to us when we found a couple of valves from this company in a donated box of valves. The valve does not state the country of origin and its probable that this vendor was selling imported valves.

The box is well produced and on the end flap the price is in Shillings and so dating it to before 1971. The EF86 is the standard early stage audio pre-amplifier valve.

The Mullard EF86 is the definitive expression of this Mullard design. This exhibit is one of the many copies that other manufacturers have made over this valves long life and has an attractive logo and lettering.

The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and excluding the B9A base pins, is 48 mm tall.
