The 6H6GT from Brimar is larger than its American counterpart, and the original metal version. This valve has the older style pinch construction that adds to the length of the envelope and has space above the electrode assembly. The glass base construction of the metal valve requires only half the length. This exhibit is a double diode. The diodes are low voltage low current signal rectifiers and not suitable for power supply service. The low current is reflected in the low heater power. The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and excluding the IO base pins the valve is 55 mm long.References: Data-sheet & 1040. Type 6H6GT was first introduced in 1940. See also 1940 adverts. |
