The PCL83 is a television triode output pentode. It is used as a frame timebase and frame output stage or audio output stage if required.
It produces enough audio output power for an average domestic environment and was made from the early 1950s.
In the envelope the two electrode systems are side by side.
The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 46 mm tall.
References: Data-sheet & 1040. Type PCL83 was first introduced in 1954. See also 1954 adverts.
