The EBF83 is normal looking exhibit that disguises a very unusual low voltage double diode pentode valve. The 12.6 Volt anode rating, coupled with a standard 6.3 V 0.3A heater, indicates operation from a vehicle battery and the car radio is the obvious application. This is confirmed by Mullard who describe this valve as being designed for use in hybrid car radio applications.

The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 59 mm tall.
