The CV2116 is a reflex klystron. The resonator cavity connects to the two circular seals.
The CV2116 klystron was designed to generate RF power of up to 140 mW over the frequency range 1.8 - 4.5 GHz. The reflector voltage would be adjusted for maximum output and a series of peaks would be found corresponding to the number of electron bunches being reflected. Typically the reflector voltage was 250 volts but the maximum voltage was 500 volts. The cathode shield would be operated at 0 V.
The thin glass tube envelope is 17 mm in diameter and, excluding the B7G base pins, is 68 mm tall. The rings are 24 mm in diameter.
