The 2C46 is a UHF planar triode with a maximum dissipation of 12 Watts.
The construction places a circular mesh grid across the whole diameter of the valve with a flat cathode and anode being spaced very close to the grid on either side of the mesh.
When used in grounded grid applications, this has minimal capacitance to cause feedback from the anode circuit to the cathode circuit.
Radiomuseum.org gives the use as in IFF transponders that give 1 kW pulses at a frequency of between 1.09 and 1.13 GHz.
The maximum diameter is 31 mm and the two glass rings are 18 mm and 12 mm in diameter. The anode is brought out to the top cap connection.
The planar envelope is 31 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 52 mm tall.
