The box is 43 mm square and 135 mm long. The valve is retained within the carton by shaped top and bottom card inserts. These allow for the valve to be tested whilst still sealed. The top and bottom are fixed to the side walls with staples. This is a 1940's box and the staples are rusty. Sadly the box has been opened roughly and this has torn the bottom card.
