This CV2792 (commercially the 2K25) is a reflex klystron designed for X-Band radar at 8.5 - 9.660 GHz. The klystron is tunable both mechanically and electrically. The electric tuning range is limited but sufficient to allow modulation at wideband FM for low power communication links. The output power is 25 mW.
The tuning screw has left and right hand threads so that the strips expand together and thus slightly altering the size of the internal resonant cavity.
The commercial 2K25 is also present indicating equivalence. The fixed side of the adjustment held by two nuts welded together.
The repeller is connected to the top cap and directs the electrons back into the cavity. The end of the tuning screw is a square block that connects to a control rod for direct or slow motion adjustment.
The probe fits in place of pin four of the IO base and mounting is such that the probe enters the flat face of WG16. See2K25 for a mounted example.
The probe is made from semi-rigid coaxial cable of the RG402 type and typically will have a characteristic impedance of 50 Ω. The dielectric is PTFE. The probe is 31.47 mm long and 3.65 mm in diameter.
The thin metal tube envelope is 25 mm in diameter, and excluding the IO base pins is 56 mm tall.
